the violent in the media is too dangerous because when the children and young adults see the t.v or video game they act more violent and that no good for the society because as a resort these children and young adults see violence as a way to work out problems.

My name is Felipe Omar Amparo Espinal, about this theme i believe that the people have created two ways for practicing the violence: kiling violently and dying violently. The violence is one of the principals problems that has the world and for to end it forever we have to concentrated the culture of the peace like the only way for resulting the troubles.

I think there is violence in different media.
for example, in the movie viewers, also the children can imitate the beatings, abuse until use of guns, knives, poisons, which could death. so when juveniles are some good news or so. This must be one adult for guidance.

Ana Gomez Perez dijo...

I agree with Yerdy, the childs imitate everything. For example, in Spain a boy killed his family,he was imitating a personage of a video game. I believe the violence in media generates more violence in the real life.

hey guys...
i was reading about violence and i read in a article than a girl about 13 or 14 years old, she tried to kill her family...
She opened the gas tank and she left to a public phone to call at the house then when someone pick up the phone, the electric shock than happen when someone pick up a phone plus the gas into the house will produce an explosion as she saw in the T.V...
so, for me is very important what the people watch or listen in the TV specially teenagers and children...A normal and pasive person will become in an aggressive and active person also the weakest persons will get emotional reactions and personality disposition...

I have two questions:
Who will we blame, the parents who sometimes DONT care about what their teens watch or blame the media than offers violence improperly as a good way to get money??
How we can stop this??

Media Violence - Introduction

Postal The debate over media violence has eluded definitive answers for more than three decades. At first blush, the debate is dominated by one question—whether or not media violence actually causes real-life violence. But closer examination reveals a political battle. On the one hand, there are those who blame media violence for societal violence and want to censor violent content to protect children. On the other hand are those who see regulation as the slippery slope to censorship or a smokescreen hiding the root causes of violence in society.

One thing is certain: the issue of media violence is not going away. Increasingly the debate is focusing on the "culture of violence," and on the normalization of aggression and lack of empathy in our society.

This section describes how the depiction of violence is evolving in a number of media formats. It analyses how, and why, violence is used by the entertainment and information industries. It offers an overview of research findings, an outline of government responses to the issue, and a look at some of the key arguments in the debate. It also explores the role that media education can play in helping young people to put media violence into perspective.

This is Laura. Now a days, children's behavior is getting everytime worse, Why? First, is like Paola said, parents are not paying attention to their beloved kids, is like they don't love them. Their baby sitter now is the TV, and if the TV is full of violence and inmorality, What are they going to learn? And we must remember, kids are like sponges.

I think that the principal violence in media are the video games. why?
Because they are interactive, very directly and require the player to identify with the aggressor,in addition the player creates his(her, your) own(proper) style.

"One study reveals that even a brief exposure to violent video games can temporarily increase aggressive behavior in all types of participants."Date: April 23, 2000

violence in the video game.
actually the video games are very violent.some games like house of death, doom, counter, devil my cry, and others can be realy dangerous for chlidren´s life because those games are based in deaths, murder also are based in devil life.if children play those games their life can change.
that's why I recommend that producers make the games with caution and less violence.

lam agree with madelyn. the violece media is too dangerous. lam thinks that parents have to take care with the children controling what they watch on televition, because the children can depelote their knowladge beyond what they can do.
Extensive viewing of television violence by children causes greater aggressiveness. Sometimes, watching a single violent program can increase aggressiveness. Children who view shows in which violence is very realistic, frequently repeated or left unpunished, are more likely to imitate what they see.
"NOTE" Violence on television can influence people to commit crimes.

violence and dangerous in schools

i read a documentary that talks about how dangerous our schools are and i think that schools should be more careful with their students and know them really well...Also they should have cameras in the buildings so that if something happens they'll know away whats going on....i think this would make students feel more safe.

My opinion about it is that the violence in media have bad things for everyone children, teenagers, adults, etc. because the persons can be influence. For example they can practice what they see or what they listen with everyone around them. The people can be more dangerous every second.

If always what we see in media is violence the world will be die.

In this occasion I me go to recounting to all the medios in general spread in this country. When the human beings to be accustomed to seeing violent actions, acquire violent habits, and somehow they support the violent actions or simply they do not react to the violent actions carried out opposite if same. But more nevertheless I believe that on having been expressed in the media of the way as them they express it, and excuse the reabundance.en occasions manage to construct algun type of assent in those that suffer directly the violence example (ill-treat to child, women and elders) which it reaches to wanting to eradicate the violence in the media, in order that it is not practised in real life.

On answer of Question's Paola How we can stop this?. I believe than firstly are parents which must monitor what their children watch on tv, video games, movies, etc,.
Monitor the number of hours your children watch tv.and play videos game, or other option(they don't play videos game). And other option? than the companys of tv ,producers of movie have to control about violence that show. Although, I believe last this is imposible.

about culture violence.
Cultural violence for not being safe is not material, on the contrary, through its action humans overcome resistance to violent actions, become violent behavior, supporting the violent actions of the specialized institutions or simply do not react to the violent actions carried out by "other" (clearly identify the agent or not as often occurs in structural violence). May even build some kind of consent of those who directly suffer direct violence.

Here are a sampling study in Breda about culture of violence

Studies on the effects of violent messages:

At times there have been violent events that were received by precise influence players through film, television or newspapers. But, those who argue that there is a cause and effect relationship between the messages of violence and violent behavior, argue that there is insufficient evidence to conclude a need influence.

In contrast, no relation to specific behaviors, one study suggested four ways in which media violence may affect children's personality: 1) an attacker, 2) a victim (increased fear and distrust), 3) a bystander effect (increased sensitivity), and 4) an appetite (increase in the desire to see or commit violence).

I read an article that says how influential can be media in people of any age. According to that reading - Orientaciones Didacticas (Didactic Orientations)- professionals say that we learn or get influences with:
-The 10% of what we read
-The 20% of what we listen
-The 30% of what we see
-The 50% of what we see and listen
-The 70% of what we say and argue
-The 90% of what we say and do.

We are surrounded by violence, so that's what we read, we listen, we see, we learn, we talk everyday. How can we escape from that?

Violence in Media Entertainment
Violence is not something new in human beings between 2000 B.C. and 44 A.D., the ancient Egyptians entertained themselves with plays re-enacting the murder of their god Osiris -- and the spectacle, history tells us, led to a number of copycat killings. The ancient Romans were given to lethal spectator sports as well, and in 380 B.C. Saint Augustine lamented that his society was addicted to gladiator games and "drunk with the fascination of bloodshed."
1. What do you think about this? Give some examples
2. If violence has always played a role in entertainment why there's a growing consensus that, in recent years?
3. What about media violence has changed?

Is important to discuss themes about this, cause we can help with ideas our society, but is necessary, for giving a better help and advices to know: What was the reason humans started to be violent?. José Sanmartín, professor at the university of Valencia, director of the Queen Sofía center for study of violence, and book´s author "violence and it´s key" said this: "people born aggressive and violent people becomes". therefore aggressiveness and violence aren´t the same.

Genes may influence violent behavior and influence everything we do and everything we are, but at no time determined that an individual will be violent with no solution, "explains Manuela Martinez Ortiz, Dr. Department of Psychobiology and Social Psychology, University of Valencia.

Violence is a product of cultural evolution, changing the culturals aspects that motive it we can resolve this. The psychiatrist Luis Rojas Marcos explains " the seed of violence sown in the first years of life, grow and develop during childhood and in the adolescence we see the malignant fruits.
Unfortunately the causes of such violence are varied: family, media, education, environment, social level. Nothing can eliminate the problem at a stroke, but experts do agree on the importance of education in childhood. though many producers have created movies bloody for the public to see the evil that violence can be, this has not given any positive result, that the culture of a lifetime can only advice is to practice against theory, but why we can not stop, to answer your question Professor, violence increases as the level of affection and understanding in the family decreases.
Do you imagine that with perseverance we can eliminate what has been instilled in many people throughout life?

Here is the link, read the problems, causes and possible solutions and implement this and say whether this information can, step by step, dominate or control completely what is cultural violence.

the violence in tv is a pretty common thing now days specially in cartoons and movie, for quite a while now a lot of accidents have been induce by this violent show's that create a different world for kids that do not understand that this is just fiction. they try to solve it by put in it in late shows and rating the program but most of the time parents dont have the ability to restraint them to such extend therefore

the kids still get to see such programs that corruct their minds,

maybe with a little more attention to what the kids are watching and features such as parental control we can make a better strategy to fight off the violence that is being influence from tv

the violent for me is the lung of the world and never in the live it will finish do you know? tha
The American society, it seems, is often depicted as violence portrayed at its best. As a people we obviously do not condone or accept this form of action yet we know it is among us. Everyday we see or hear about an evil occurring, whether it is a hit and run, a robbery, or a murder. Because of the consistency of these events in our country, many people have sought to answer the question, "Why?" Why do people become so infatuated with wrong doing that they perform such violent crimes?

petra dijo...

This type of stereotyping is common in our society. This is similar to the idea that children think certain ways based on what they see and hear. Children also pertain to this idea in that they act the way those around them or those on television act. In conclusion, I believe that violence in the media affects people .

History Statistics of Violence on Venezuelan TV.

In the decade of the seventies studies on the influence of television on children and adolescents indicated that the school saw an average of 1.5 to 3 hours per day on TV. In the eighties, the average increased from 2.5 to 5 hours per day.

Several analysts wrote that preschool children, beginning at the two years, look around three thousand hours of television before entering first grade of basic cycle.

During the period of primary and secondary students accumulate about ten thousand hours of attendance, while at the same time spend an average of fifteen thousand hours in front of a TV. In conclusion, contemporary children and adolescents spend more time on TV than formal schooling.

Scientific studies show that TV consumption is gradually increasing from three years to the beginning of adolescence. From this period decreases the average number of hours watching television, but it increases the preference for violent programs for boys.

It also concluded that children from low socioeconomic and watch more TV are more interested in violent that children higher socioeconomic levels.

I don´t think so, bui it´s very true someone has the fault, I´d say the fault has the society for to have fulled of bad that take us at a cliff. Thinking about this we can go to the conclusion in my other commet about "cultural violence". if we enter in the theme of "bad" we have to go to the spiritual matter.

The violence is the foundation of many TV's movies, and the series of action(share). In fact, the violence is often synonymous " of the action(share) ". And producers use her as way to commercialize his(her, your) recordings and television shows. From this information I realize that the violence in the televicion is used as way to commercialize the viodeos, movies and shows that in this one are transmitted without evaluating the negative reactions that this can cause to the human being. The mass media can be an influence of powerful violence in systems of value that they develop in behavior in the children, it(he,she) is lamentable to admit that the majority of programs transmitted in the mass media especially in the TV are a show violent. According to this investigation(research) I understand that the violence transmitted in the media of this communication affecting intensely to the human beings peros especially to the children something that is worrying for the society for them in a future they were reflecting with actions(shares) that were harming the well-being of there presents the violence that they have visualized in the medio. And I ask the parents see the violence transmitted in the means communication as form of education of self-defence for his(her, your) children? Do adults perceive the violence in the tv as a factor that affects in the behavior and rebelliousness of the children and teenagers or only as an informative way of violence?

Sheila Davis, professor of lyric writing at New York University, is convinced that "better give serious attention to the content of pop songs and to evaluate not only what lyrics are saying to society but, more important, what they may be doing to it" (USA Today, October 11, 1985, p. 10)."

But, in my opinion, the media that more affects to that the people appear more violent they are the video games. Because in them yourself are who shoot and to kill someone, or you drop bombs and murder many people, etc. For this I believe the video games are more dangerous, especially for the children.

the studied showed that media present more violence, more sexual graphic and more sadistic.

well, the bible predicted a lot of time ago a similar situation in 1timote 3:1-5 he says that last days critical times difficult to handle that the serious people lovers of the money, fierce and without having natural fondness. But also the bible shows that this have an end, revelation 11:18 says that jehova bring the ruin of those to ruining the earth, it includes those who foment values removed from what god teaches in the bible.

Because of it today violence exists in the whole world but soon as says isaias11:9 they will not do any harm or cause any in all my holy mountain; because the earth will certainly be filled with the khowledge of jehova as the waters are covering the very sea.

undoubtedly is necessary to have as principal solution the culture of the piece, because for we don´t practice the violence there is to have in our man that violence is not in our world, we don´t use it cause we don´t know what is it.
for me onlly there is the culture of the piece.

in this moment my oppnion is the next,The violence is an unjust action with which it takes offense, humiliates or harms to a others persons. Violations, dormitory scenes are repeated untiringly in films, novels, or in newspapers, so that they happen in the real life, the bad words are distributed by all the programming. The indifference and the scorn, when not hatred and the crime, replace to the reciprocal love father-children.

INANCE reference to what the teacher wrote annfrank and questions put
ago I have this comment.
answers to your questions:

1.I think this point is of great importance to the issue because we can learn how ancient Egyptians, Romans practiced or viewed violence in the form of entertainment, such as the Romans had Pacion by glaridores games, this game or practice is about a fight between another opponent or with a beast using swords as weapons. As with many other customs of ancient gladiatorial combat, which began as a rite of religious significance, they ended up being a public spectacle that came to inspire a passion unbridled.

2.this is a example is that shown in viloence entertainment from many years ago, in present organizations have been created to try to control the violence in that aspect, but it happens that while have agree with people who are using is in the entertainment and others fields are not going to stop this.
Surveys have shown that approximately 62 percent of those questioned are agree of violence in entertainment controlled, the other 38 are disagree.

3. said Annfrank in last question: What about violence in the media has changed? I think the violence has only changed in the way the show but we are still victims of violence in the media.
